1. The manufacturer makes an oral or written preliminary application to the relevant laboratory (referred to as the laboratory).
2. The applicant fills in the application form and sends the application form, product brochures and technical documents to the laboratory. The applicant may also be required to provide a prototype.
3. The laboratory determines the inspection standards, test items and quotation.
4. The applicant confirms the quotation and sends the sample and relevant technical documents to the laboratory.
5. The applicant provides the required technical documentation.
6. The laboratory sends a fee notice to the applicant, and the applicant pays the certification fee according to the notice.
7. The laboratory conducts product testing and reviews the technical documentation.
8. Technical documentation review includes:
   1. Whether the documentation is complete.
   2. Whether the documentation is written in an official language, such as English, German or French.
9. If the technical documentation is incomplete or the required language is not used, the laboratory will inform the applicant to make the necessary improvements.
10. If the product fails the test, the laboratory will promptly inform the applicant and allow the applicant to improve the product. After the changes, the product may be retested. The applicant should also update the original application information so that it reflects the actual condition of the modified product.

The laboratory then provides the applicant with the test report or relevant technical documentation and IRAM certification.
