IECEE signs agreement with PV-GAP

The 10th CMC meeting approved an exclusive trademark licensing agreement between IECEE and PV-GAP and will report it to CAB. Under the agreement, IECEE is granted exclusive, royalty-free use of the PV-GAP mark and seal for two years, while ownership of the mark remains with PV-GAP. NCBs that join the PV category may directly issue the PV-GAP mark/seal at the same time as issuing IECEE-PV conformity assessment certificates. The agreement has been reviewed and approved by the IEC Legal Department.

The PV-GAP mark is currently registered in the United States and Europe. In response to Canada’s question regarding the cost of registration in other regions, the Secretariat pointed out that the mark is still owned by PV-GAP. If registration in additional regions is required, the registration costs will be borne by the owner of the mark and will not affect the licensing agreement.
